Brand New Fleet of Boats & Motors !!! Guests are provided with a 16 foot aluminum fishing boat with floors and split rear seat for the driver. All boats are well equipped with a dependable electric start, 4 stroke 25 HP Yamaha outboard motor, fish finder, electric bilge pump, daily tank of fuel, high rise swivel seats, floatation boat cushions, rubber landing net, minnow bucket, paddles, anchor, boat safety kit and personal floatation device (PFD/Life Jacket). One boat for every two-three guests. A modern fish cleaning facility is available for filleting and freezing your catch, and our well equipped tackle shop has everything you will need to make this fishing trip a successful and enjoyable one.

Shore lunch kits are included for those on the American Plan (meals included) and has everything you will need to make a traditional fried fish meal. Guests on the Housekeeping Plan can request a shore lunch box with no food at no additional cost.

Walleye

Perhaps the easiest to catch all season long. Small spinners, spoons, crawler-harnesses, jigs and minnow type lures are best.

Northern Pike

An excellent game fish that can exceed 20lbs; they’re most often caught around the weed beds and inlets. Spoons and spinners are considered the best lure type.

Whitefish

Best caught drift-fishing with worms or small spoons in deeper water – these can be trickier to catch but worth the extra effort

Perch

Average size ranging from 9″ to 14″, perch are plentiful. The current largest perch is 18″. Worms and minnow-type lures will help you land this delicious species.

Live Bait

We sell both minnows and worms at our on-site store at very fair rates. Some of the best fishing is off one of our docks at the lodge.

Housekeeping Plan: Perfect for those who enjoy cooking their own meals, this plan provides guests with access to fully equipped kitchens in their accommodations. For guests on this plan, we also provide a shore lunch box (without food) at no extra cost, so you can enjoy the same experience of dining on the water.

We just got back after a weeks long trip and it was without a doubt our favorite family trip (and we just went to Disney in April) Rob and Steph are truly great people and made the trip all the better. The fishing was great, the cabins are cozy but more importantly is that the food was delicious!!! Every meal made was better than the last. The kids loved everything. Flying in/out, all the fish we caught and just being able run around. I actually think our dogs had a better time. If you’re thinking about booking a trip my entire family would highly recommend it. We just left and we’re already planning our next trip.

The Lodge and Hospitality is second to none in Northern Ontario. If the float plane out of Wawa doesn't provide exciting life long memories the Walleye and Monster Pike will! Robert and Stephanie Watson, (the staff) et al provide you with everything you may need, and then some, in the wilderness on Kabinakagami Lake. The accommodations, boats, motors, guides, fishing, and endless wilderness stories will bring you back year after year...perhaps more often than that.

What an amazing experience for my kids 11 and 9 myself and my parents. My kids said " this is better than going to Disney". They can't wait to go back. The long drive from southern Ontario was so worth the experience. You are treated 5 star and the food on the plan was amazing. My kids especially loved the shore lunches of fresh fish. I recommend this place for anyone that enjoys a quiet trip with an abundance of fish caught daily.

What’s the difference between the American Plan and the Housekeeping Plan?

The American Plan includes all meals prepared daily by our lodge staff, as well as a shore lunch kit with everything needed to enjoy a traditional fried fish meal on the lake. The Housekeeping Plan allows guests to prepare their own meals in fully equipped kitchens, and a shore lunch box (without food) is available at no extra charge upon request.

Do I need to bring my own fishing equipment or boat?

We’ve got you covered when it comes to boats and gear for your fishing adventure! Each group is provided with a 16-foot aluminum fishing boat, equipped with a 4-stroke 25 HP Yamaha motor, fish finder, landing net, paddles, safety equipment, and more. However, we recommend bringing your own fishing rod and tackle to ensure you’re comfortable with your gear. If you forget something or need additional supplies, our on-site tackle shop has everything you need to make your trip a success.

Is there a place to clean and store my fish?

Yes! Windy Point Lodge has a modern fish cleaning facility, equipped for filleting and freezing your catch. This ensures your fish stay fresh for the journey home.
